Steps to Configure Microsoft Outlook<\/span><\/h3>\n

Open Microsoft Outlook and\u00a0select Tools.<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

\nClick on E-mail Accounts<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0and you’ll be taken to a screen that looks like this…<\/span><\/p>\n

A lot of the mystery surrounding email will disappear if you understand this quirky little bit of information about it: <\/span><\/p>\n

Outgoing<\/span><\/strong> <\/em>mail is sent via your Internet Service Provider (ISP). It’ll be someone like Bigpond. ISPs use SMTP (Standard Mail Transfer Protocol). <\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Incoming<\/span><\/strong><\/em> mail is received via your Domain which Bonza provides. We use POP3. (Post Office Protocol).<\/span><\/p>\n

Click so the “radio button” selects View or change existing email accounts<\/em><\/strong> and then click Next><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

This is LIKE<\/strong> what you’ll now see<\/span><\/p>\n

\"Outlook<\/span><\/p>\n

Single left click on an account (in the Name column). In the illustration above, I’ve “selected” the Bonza Mobile account.<\/span><\/p>\n

On the right, click on the top button Change<\/strong>. This is LIKE<\/strong> what you’ll see:<\/span><\/p>\n

The above screen shot is LIKE<\/strong> what you’ll see except, what you’re looking at has the fields completed.<\/span><\/p>\n

We’re after the contents of the field Outgoing mail server (SMTP):<\/em>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

It’ll be something like mail.bigpond.com<\/strong>, mail.optusnet.com.au<\/strong><\/em>, or maybe even just mail<\/em><\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Now click <Back <\/strong>then, <\/strong>click <Back <\/strong>again please.<\/span><\/p>\n

This time, click so the “radio button” selects Add a new e-mail account<\/em><\/strong> and then click Next><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

This is what you’ll now see.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\"Outlook<\/span>Click to add a radio button selecting POP3<\/em><\/strong>. Now click Next><\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

In the User Information<\/strong> area, type in Your Name: as you want it to appear in the recipients In Box when you send them emails.<\/strong> <\/span><\/p>\n

In the E-mail Address<\/em>: <\/strong>field, type in the new email address you’re setting up.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the Server Information<\/em><\/strong> area, type in your Incoming mail server (POP3): information which Bonza will have given you. (It’ll be something LIKE<\/strong> mail.yourdomain.com).<\/span><\/p>\n

The Outgoing mail server (SMTP): information is something like,\u00a0mail.bigpond.com<\/strong>, mail.optusnet.com.au.<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

In the Logon Information<\/em><\/strong> area, type in your User Name: and Password: which Bonza will have given you.<\/span><\/p>\n

Under the Password, click to put a tick in the “checkbox” Remember password<\/em><\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Now click Next><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Click Finish<\/strong>. You should be back at the standard Outlook screen.<\/span><\/p>\n

PROBLEMS?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Can’t Receive Email?<\/span><\/h4>\n

Check that you are connected to the internet by going to a website such as Google.<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

If you can’t see the site, then you are not connected, and you’ll need to contact\u00a0your ISP <\/strong>(Internet Service Provider).<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

  1. Send yourself an email. Did you know you can do that?<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Go to your account settings and check that (maybe) your username is your full<\/strong> email address – not just the\u00a0part before the ‘@’ symbol.<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. Make sure the incoming mail server is set correctly. It’ll be something like mail.yourdomain.com<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n
  4. Make sure you are typing in the correct password.<\/span><\/li>\n
  5. Make sure caps lock is not turned on when typing your password.<\/span><\/li>\n
  6. Contact Bonza<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Can’t Send Email?<\/span><\/h4>\n

    Problems with sending email are caused by your outgoing mail server<\/em> which is operated by your Internet Service Provider , not Bonza.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

    Call your ISP and get the settings from them. Your outgoing server name will be something like mail.bigpond.com<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
