With Google\u2019s power in the marketplace it\u2019s something Small Business Owners\u00a0shouldn\u2019t ignore. Google is serious about Local Search, if you want more visibility online you need to grab your spot.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

You\u2019ve seen how Google is highlighting local<\/em> <\/span>in the search result pages (SERPs). Example:\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Claim your Google Place<\/strong><\/a>, encourage users to leave reviews on Hotpot and<\/strong> Google Places, and take advantage of the free marketing.
\nSee\u00a0our Places listing above, on the bottom right it shows stars and Reviews and a link to our Places page. Customers can click on either Reviews or the Places page link to write a review and leave a rating.\u00a0Google adds Hotpot ratings to search results, that’s what the stars are about on our Place.<\/strong><\/p>\n

You can make it easy for your\u00a0customers to leave\u00a0a review by providing them with a link directly to the “Rate and Review”<\/em> section of your Google Maps listing.
\nGo to http:\/\/maps.google.com<\/a><\/span> and find your “place”.\u00a0When you’re on your page…
\nClick on\u00a0“Link”<\/em> top right of\u00a0 your Place. A link will appear.<\/p>\n

Copy the link into Notepad. Now you’re ready to use the link to send to your customers asking them to\u00a0write a review.\u00a0When they click on the link they’ll be\u00a0taken directly to your page where they’ll see under the main section…. \"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

It’s a bit unfortunate that everyone needs a Google account to Review but maybe it’s there to control spam and abuse, so it’s a good thing. Anyone with a g-mail account can login and for others, it only takes a matter of minutes to set one up.<\/p>\n

It doesn’t end there, why not create a “Write a Review”<\/strong> button on your website with your Google Maps link behind it? You could even send the link in\u00a0customer surveys or your thank you pages. Anytime\u00a0you are communicating with a client is an opportunity to ask for a review.<\/p>\n

\nGoogle Maps<\/strong>,
\nGoogle Earth<\/a><\/strong> and Mobile Search<\/strong>.<\/a><\/p>\n

BONZA TIP:<\/span><\/strong> When you claim your Place be sure to set the account up using a g-mail email\u00a0JUST for\u00a0Places because once you’ve claimed your place you cannot edit\/change the email.<\/p>\n
