Promoting you business online and offline always boils down to how much time you have.<\/strong>
\n<\/span>Each and every strategy needs to be worked on to build your business and many can be managed by you if you’re able to set aside time.<\/p>\n

Another option is to hire a\u00a0“marketing strategists”, they’re\u00a0popping up like mushrooms ever since the buzz\u00a0over social media reached a crescendo. If any of you are using a “strategist” I’d love to know if the outcome is fabulous and\u00a0whether it’s worth Bonza recommending the services you use.<\/p>\n

So how might you handle it yourself…. Online.<\/span><\/p>\n

We’ve discussed Facebook,<\/a> Twitter<\/a>, Google Places<\/a> and\u00a0Social Media<\/a> in general, but there are plenty of other low cost ways to promote your website online.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Here are a handful of ideas and tools\u00a0to reach your existing clients and to attract new prospects:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Create an email newsletter – Email Marketing<\/span>
\nCrafting good content and adding forward to a friend<\/em>\u00a0means they are more likely to be read and forward on to prospective clients. You can do it\u00a0using your email software itself but there can be a problem\u00a0mailing out bulk emails, depending on how big your client list is. A better option is to use an\u00a0Autoresponder <\/span>which\u00a0has predesigned configurable templates. The cost is usually determined by how many emails are on your list. If you receive\u00a0Bonza’s “Funny of the Week” newsletter, it is\u00a0designed and delivered by\u00a0using an Autoresponder.\u00a0We have used Constant Contact\u00a0<\/a>and Mailchimp<\/a>\u00a0and both tools are good, cheap and easy to use. * <\/span>You shouldn\u2019t go off and send unsolicited email to anyone.<\/p>\n

Tip: If you know someone (a business associate)\u00a0who has a large mailing list you might offer to do a joint venture where you can advertise your product in their next newsletter and pay them either a fee for the advertising or for a percentage of the sales.<\/em><\/p>\n

Create video tutorials or talks and post them on video-sharing sites<\/span><\/span>.<\/strong>
\nCamtasia<\/a>\u00a0is\u00a0a\u00a0fantastic tool for this\u00a0and you’d post them to You Tube.<\/a>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Post screenshots of your work on photo-sharing sites.\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span>\u00a0
\nFlikr<\/a> is the best known photo-sharing site. There are strict terms of use<\/em> so read them carefully before setting up. Snagit<\/a>\u00a0is a fantastic tool to get screenshots.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Contextual Advertising.<\/span>
\nServices such as Google Adwords<\/a> allow for low budget, short-term, pay-per-click advertising. Because of the learning curve and the competitive nature of bidding on keywords, we recommend you use the services of a qualified Adwords professional.\u00a0There is a lot involved in getting it right, and most overlook some important facts, which means they pay for a lot of wasted clicks which will chew up your budget without delivering a return to your business.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
