Computer Maintenance Checklist…
1. Have you installed a surge protector in case of power shutdowns?
2. Have you registered your products and software (i.e. printers, digital cameras, Microsoft Office, anti-virus software, etc)?

3. Have you stored your hardware drivers disk and all other disks in a safe place?
Here’s a run down of maintenance checks you should attend to throughout the year.
WEEKLY:
1. Defrag your hard drive using the Disk Defragment tool
2. Run Disk Cleanup to delete unused and temporary files

3. Back up your files and keep a copy offsite
4. Empty your recycle bin
5. Delete Internet files
6. Erase your browsing history
7. Delete cookies
8. Update anti virus and anti malware programs
9. Clear out your email folders, archive old emails you need to keep.
10. Run a full disk check using your antivirus and anti malware software.
MONTHLY:
1. Check for Windows updates
2. Delete/uninstall programs you no longer use.

QUARTERLY:
1. Dust your keyboard
2. Dust and clean your monitor
3. Dust your peripherals (printers, the pc itself)
4. Tidy your desktop
5. Change all your passwords.
