In the next few years a vast majority of businesses will support tablets for their workforce. According to Gartner analysts, by 2013 tablets such as Apple’s iPad will have infiltrated 80 per cent of enterprises.

There will be a variety of new support requirements for IT departments ranging from bare minimum appliance-level support to network connectivity and helpdesk support.

According to Gartner analysts, the iPad is not a notebook replacement for most users, but a valuable companion device. That’s what I reckon too!

Imagine if your sales team used them, what a great tool.

I’ll let you know how I go using my i Pad in the field in the New Year.
