Instant Previews show users a visual of your website before they click.
Google announced the introduction of “instant preview”; a small screenshot of a webpage, custom-tailored to highlight the search term used, and visible from the Google search page itself by clicking a magnifier icon.
Once you click on one magnifier all other magnifiers become active. Run your mouse over them and you will instantly see all previews.
The highlighting of search terms in the screenshot provides users with a quick answer … while never actually visiting your webpage.
If the screenshot of your website is too long Google will show torn edges to indicate parts have been removed. The search term used will still be highlighted.
“A picture is worth a thousand words“ refers to the idea that a complex idea can be conveyed with just a single still image. It also aptly characterizes one of the main goals of visualization, namely making it possible to absorb large amounts of data quickly.
Will Google Instant Previews be great for your business?
