Blue Screen of Death is also known as; BSOD, BSoD, STOP message, STOP error, system crash, kernel error and blue screen error.
When Windows encounters a critical system error it shuts itself down to prevent damage to your computer. Which is a good thing because it prevents your computer from being damaged beyond repair.
The blue, full screen error displays after a serious system crash and usually flashes up just before your computer suddenly shuts down without warning. Any unsaved data you’re working on at the time will be lost.
It means, somewhere in your computer something has performed an illegal operation. In most cases, the problem is the result of something called a Kernell error, which is a small program in your system that runs or “drives “your hardware such as your printer or monitor.
Other potential causes are faults with specific hardware such as a power supply malfunctioning, a component over heating or a conflicting interaction between drives.
Your Bonza computer repair technician will determine whether it’s an internal program problem or a hardware malfunction. Try to remember what was happening prior to the crash. Was the fan working intermittently? Have you just installed extra memory or any other hardware?
Once any hardware issues have been dismissed your tech will diagnose your operating system and repair the error.
